Meet Brittany
FOUNDER AND TUTOR
Born and raised in Southern California, Brittany obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine. After graduating she started traveling internationally, and after falling in love with Italy she decided to move there to pursue teaching English.
Upon moving to Italy in 2014, she obtained her CELTA certification from International House in Milan. She then moved south to Puglia and taught at a new English school for nearly three academic years. During this time she taught Cambridge Suite exams, Trinity, IELTS, TOEFL, and AIM Awards exams. She gained experience teaching people of all ages and levels, became Director of Studies, and experimented with her teaching techniques.
In 2016, Brittany transitioned to freelance online teaching, which allowed her to refine her knowledge of the English language and deepen her understanding of effective teaching techniques. She went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from the University of Leicester, where she focused on topics such as Corpus Linguistics and Sociolinguistics, and developed a strong interest in diversity and inclusion in ELT.
Over the past decade, she has accumulated a wealth of experience working in various settings, including private language schools, public schools, and renowned multinational companies such as Gucci, Burger King, AirBnB, Santander, La Perla, and Mediaset. In these diverse environments, she has been instrumental in helping individuals all over the world achieve their language-learning goals. She approaches teaching with compassion and enthusiasm. With her extensive experience, academic achievements, and diverse interests, she is a valuable asset to any student or organization seeking to improve their English language skills.
Brittany is passionate about linguistics and language teaching, and has a wealth of knowledge in various languages. She is conversational in Italian and Portuguese, and has knowledge of Spanish, French, Greek, and German. In addition to her linguistic pursuits, Brittany is an accomplished dancer with over 35 years of training and has a love for physical activities like SUP, rock climbing, and hiking. She is also an avid reader and enjoys taking her dog, Chuga Choo, on adventures.
